Super Eagles Coach Demands $130,000 Monthly Salary, Flight Tickets For His Family, Others

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, is reportedly seeking a new contract that could see him earn up to $130,000 per month.

Currently, Chelle receives about $50,000 monthly from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The Malian coach has recently switched agents and has been linked with a potential move to Marseille.

According to Shina Oludare of FlashScore, the $130,000 would cover not just Chelle but his entire technical team and personal assistant.

Chelle’s other reported demands include: a private SUV with a chauffeur and security, a house in a secure area with 24-hour uninterrupted power supply, a furnished office with a projector for analysis, reliable internet access, and flight tickets for his wife and two children (business class for him and his wife, economy for the children). He also seeks GPS services and proper technical equipment.

Additionally, Chelle wants authority over international friendly matches, training camps, youth development initiatives, and the ability to travel abroad to monitor and engage national team players. He also requests the right to travel domestically to watch league matches to scout talent for the senior national team, U23, U20, and U17 squads.

Other stipulations reportedly include no interference in team selection and player call-ups, as well as contractual provisions for his staff. Chelle’s outlined terms specify that salaries must be paid by the 30th of each month, with bonuses and allowances structured according to NFF policy, including for his personal assistant.

“The NFF has to issue a working contract for my staff, salary needs to be paid on or before 30th of every month, bonus and allowance as per federation structure, request to include my PA in the bonus and allowance structure, proposed salary of $130,000.00 monthly. The amount includes all technical staffs and PA and monthly meeting with all the national team coaches.”
