The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yusuf formally defected to the ruling party on Monday at the Coronation Hall of the Kano Government House.
He was welcomed into the APC by former National Chairman and ex-Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje; Deputy Senate President and Kano South Senator, Barau Jibrin; Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata; and other senior party officials.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Yusuf explained that his decision to rejoin the APC was motivated by a desire to collaborate more closely with the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
Yusuf, who was elected governor in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), had previously resigned from the party along with several members of the Kano State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives.
