Atiku’s Son Endorses Tinubu For Second Tenure, Lauds Economic Reforms

Abba Atiku Abubakar, son of former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has praised the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, publicly declaring support for his re-election in the forthcoming 2027 general election.

Speaking while on a courtesy visit to the leadership of the City Boy Movement in Abuja, Abubakar said his decision to support President Tinubu’s second-term ambition is driven by his admiration for the economic policies being implemented by the current administration.

“This administration has introduced policies that have every Nigerian in mind. If anyone says this government is not doing well, I will tell them they are lying,” he said.

“I believe that if given another term, the government will do even more because it is focused on delivering results.”

Speaking further, Abubakar noted that his long-standing experience in business has given the President) a clear perspective on economic governance in Nigeria.

“Since the return of democratic rule in 1999, I have been in business, and I am still in business today. The economic policies of Mr. President are favourable—not just to businesses, but to Nigerians in general, who are already benefitting from these reforms,” he stated.

He described the Tinubu administration’s business environment as the most conducive Nigeria has experienced in over two decades.

Abubakar also explained that his decision to join the All Progressives Congress and align with the City Boy Movement was motivated by his passion for the Tinubu-led administration and his desire to serve.

“My joining the APC and the City Boy Movement is based on my belief in this administration. I also intend to use this platform to serve the people of Adamawa at the National Assembly level. Mr. President has made youth inclusion in politics a reality,” he added.

He commended President Tinubu for opening political space to young Nigerians and non-traditional actors, describing it as a significant step toward democratic renewal.

On his part, the Director General of the City Boy Movement, Mr. Oluwatosin Francis Shoga, reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to youth participation in governance and leadership.

He noted that one of CBM’s core strategic mandates is to ensure that young Nigerians are deliberately positioned for leadership roles while encouraging greater youth involvement in the political space.

“The City Boy Movement was established to mobilize young Nigerians across all zones of the country and provide them with a platform to engage meaningfully in politics and nation-building.

“We are proud to have Abba Atiku Abubakar join this movement. His decision reflects the confidence that forward-thinking young Nigerians have in President Tinubu’s leadership”
he stated.

The movement which the former Vice President’s son led to the CBM meeting, the Haske Atiku Organisation has now rebranded as the Haske Tinubu Organisation.
