Governor Siminalayi Fubara has announced the immediate dissolution of the Rivers State Pension Board, constituted by former Rivers administrator, Ibas
In a statement issued on Friday by the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Inyingi Brown, the governor, directed that the functions of the board will henceforth be handled by the Office of the Accountant General of Rivers State, until a fresh one is constituted.
The directive further ordered members of the dissolved board to hand over all assets and properties in their possession to the Director of Administration without delay.
Governor Fubara also assured that a new board will soon be set up to properly manage pension affairs in the state.
This marks the first major action taken by the governor since his reinstatement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on September 18.
