Dangote Refinery has announced it will stop selling petrol in Naira starting tomorrow, September 28, 2025.
In a notice to customers, the refinery said it had already used up its Naira-denominated crude allocations, making it impossible to continue petrol sales in the local currency.
“We cannot sustain PMS sales in Naira going forward,” the Group Commercial Operations stated in the memo.
The refinery urged customers with ongoing Naira transactions to submit formal refund requests. It promised to issue further updates once it resolves the situation and resumes Naira sales.
