Two Columbia High School students were arrested on Thursday, September 19, after administrators discovered one of them was with a loaded handgun on campus, DeKalb County School District officials said.
School administrators noticed the smell of marijuana and searched the student’s belongings, that was when they discovered the loaded gun.
DeKalb County School District police charged both teens with possession of a weapon on school grounds and possession of a handgun by someone under the age of 18.
The students’ names were not released and it’s unclear how old they are actually.
Thursday’s incident was at the third time this year arrests were made after a gun was discovered on a DeKalb high school campus.
