A white Mercedes Benz G-Wagon belonging to outsppken Governor of Ekiti State, Gov. Ayodele Fayose, was completely burnt down in Lagos on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
His spokesperson Lere Olayinka, confirming the incident said that there were no casualties and that was not in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
“There was an accident involving the governor’s vehicle on his way to the airport on Tuesday. Though he was meant to be in the vehicle but by providence, he was not there.
No casualty recorded. Cause of the fire not ascertained yet,” Mr. Olayinka said on the phone.
Mr Olayinka said the governor is grateful to God that no casualty was recorded and also thanked the people who tried there possible best to bring the fire under control.
Gov. Fayose is one of the leading opposition figures in Nigeria who has been outspoken in condemning corruption and anti-democratic actions of the presidency.
