Modelling is gradually becoming a trendy in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Little wonder young girls especially students are making waves in it.

In an interview with one of Nigeria's fastest growing model, Miss ifeoma talks about her life as a model and lawyer in equity. Miss Ifeoma is Mis s Southeast Ambassador.

This beauty queen was all smiles all through the interview that I wondered if she ever gets angry but no! She can be very suacy if she's not conversant with you.

 I saw her in her residential apartment and we had a long chat. Excerpts below;

Let's get to meet u Miss ifeoma

Thank you very much..I am Miss Ifeoma Awaodigbo Present most beautiful model southeast Ambassador. I am a citizen of Nigeria. from Abia state in Bende local government. I am the 5th child out of six.

What do u do currently apart from modelling

Apart from modelling... I am a student. Precisely, I'm studying law in Abia state university. I am a dancer.. also i"m good at lip syncing recorded music.I'm good at it so it's part of what I do too.

Does ur family know about your modelling career?

Of course, is there not a saying that says something like, if You don't receive blessings or support from your parents as regards to what you do,then you won't succeed.. I believe in that saying. In whatever I do in life, I make sure apart from God,that my parents are the first people I confide in..so as long as my parents know, my family definitely know of my modelling career and they also support me in every way they can.especially with prayers. Ok to be more forward, My eldest sister talked me into becoming a model and also my other siblings helped me plan everything, (I was in secondary sch then) They got my heels,one of my sisters took it upon herself to be my Manager. (Laughs)she spoke to my boss n all..to cut it short.. They (my family) are really in support of my modelling career..

How far have you gone in your modelling career and how far do you intend to go

It's been six(6)years I started out as a model. It might look or sound really long to you,but this long is not how far I want to go.ok i would say that I've gone far enough to know quite a lot about the industry, which is of great help to me now.also as a model,I have modelled for a lot of designers here in Nigeria and in the pageantry field.I can boast of being a queen. But I intend to go farther than this. I intend to achieve much more than I have now..I don't want my career to just stop here in my country.. I want it to take me to places (international) I intend to meet and model for international designers.. As a model, I would love to be known and recognised everywhere I go to and all.also in the nearest future, I would love to own my own Agency and help train young models.

So how old is miss ifeoma

My age..it's not compulsory right.(laughs) I'm still quite very young..I'm not even 22yet.so you can guess my age.

At what age did you start modelling?

I started modelling at the age of 15.

Will you still practice after your LL.B?

Yes after my LL.B here in school. I intend to practice.. Why would I study law and not intend to practice? This course is not just a course you would study for 5yrs and then, throw away your certificate or keep it in your cuboard..I know most people study law without practising. To be sincere, i'v never thought of that. I'm studying it because I intend to practice. My God,I really love the course and all I EVER think of is to finish and then practice. So yes,I would practice after my LL.B

Does it affect your academics?

No it doesn't affect my academics.. Sincerely it is really hard. I mean,studying and modelling.but you know,if you focus on just one,the other would be neglected. So I make sure I face my academics and also make out time for modelling. If my modelling career is affecting my academics, I wouldn't even venture into modelling. So my academics is wholly save.

Has any company singed you yet?

None for now..but I'm still hoping. And I have this feeling that it is coming soon.

Tell us your experience about your last camping and audition.

Okay,I would start from the audition. My last pageant was The most beautiful model southeast 2017.The audition was very much okay.I passed the Audition so I was among the top 20 finalist. The camping lasted for 5days and I must say,it was the best camp ever.I thought it was going to be the normal,girls beefing each other stuff because it was a competition.But it was exactly the opposite. I almost totally forgot I came for a competition apart from the Tour,camping activities, sports, Exam,interview,swimming n all.In camp I was the best in catwalk. So some of the girls who knew what they wanted got pretty close with me so I could help them correct there errors.apart from that, we were all treated equally, no special treatments. I also got nicknamed in camp though, "TIWA savage" and "Fire Dancer" (laughs)

Where you nervous?

was not nervous.. Both in the auditions and camping. I had this assurance in me that I was a winner and I never pretended. I practiced in camp as though I was already on stage.. And as God may have it,my efforts were not in vain.I emerged as a runner-up. I really thank God for everything. He made everything easy for me because at a time I wanted to quit before the camping but his love kept me going. I'm greatful

which celebrity is your personality most like?

TIWA Tope Balogun.The award winning Nigerian Artist."TIWA Savage ".Lol,You just said we look very much alike when I stepped in remember? It's not just about the face though.

Who is your biggest role model..

My mum is surely my role model.. Apart from mum,I would say Michelle Obama. She might not have been a beauty queen but she possess all the qualities of a queen.she is bold,Beautiful and she has charisma

What was ur first auditioning and contest like?

My first audition wasn't in my first contest, it was for a runway. And I was supposed to model for the designers.I thought it was an easy thing,until I was called up for the Audition. My legs were really shaking hard.I was just praying hard that the organisers didn't notice.. At a Point I just wanted to go home. (Laughs) But I scaled through n found myself being chosen. My first contest wasn't easy though.. I worked on myself in everyway as regards to the contest.and then the D-day came n I was all shaky.I was the 3rd contestant. I really got over the shaky shaky stuff after my first appearance on stage. I really enjoyed it though. And mostly I was really glad as I went home with my first crown n title as a pageant queen.

Tell us about ur love life

Urmmmm....I really don't know or think I should say anything right now about my love life. It's not that I'm trying to be secretive or that I'm trying to hide something. To me,its something very personal. So let's just say,u didn't ask me(laughs)


Said you want to practice (law) after your degree. How would you combine it with your modelling career

I can only do that through Gods help.and I know I will.you want me to spill it right? Ok.I hope to have had my own Agency by then. So I would now be the boss.with this I would be able to practice law

The legal profession is a very strict profession with stringent rules.

Does the profession allow such activities? Don't you think your wig might be under threat?

To me,my wig is under no threat. Like I said earlier. I am going to practice. So I should know the things that can limit me.also most times i think of Why anyone should be punished for being good at two different careers?
Whether or not I decide to stay in the legal field, I refuse to compromise my identity and my hard work to conform to some else’s (sexist) idea of what a person professional should or should not be.
A person should pursue all opportunities
presented to them and become the best version of themselves possible, in every arena. That is what I have been doing, and it is what I would continue to do


So what advice do you have for young and upcoming models out there

As Henry Ford famously said, “Whether you
think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.” Believe that you can succeed, and you’ll find ways through different obstacles. If you don’t, you’ll just find excuses.

Do you have any magazine on sale?

None for now.But would be available soon

There's this general believe that models sleep with their organizers just to win the crown using the case of the chidimma scandal as a case study.
What do you have to say about that

(Laughs)Its no longer actress now its models?Most times I really do wish that every body would be a model just for a sec,at least to know what it feels like to be termed bad.I would always say this,it depends on the person. Every Agency or organizer of a pageant wants the best model to represent his brand.and the models are chosen based on performance not sex.If a model decides to sleep with her organizer, then it's a personal thing.it doesn't concern the modelling and all.And as regards to the Chidinma's issue, whatever it was that she did,was something done modelling aside.it's a personal thing her case was made public because her video leaked.we shouldn't judge her or term it all to modelling most people are not better.nobody is a saint.

What is your greatest challenge as a model

As a model my greatest challenge is how to attain the highest level. My greatest challenge is to achieve the success in my
career and remain honest in my works and thinking. I am really one of the lucky girls in getting the success through my hard work and sincerity. Still, I am also following the same principle in my career.
