ABSU 25TH PRE-CONVOCATION LECTURE

It was really a moment of intellectual harvest as the Hon. Minister of State for Education,Professor A.G   Ankwuka delivered the 25th Pre-Convocation lecture of Abia State University with the topic: NIGERIA AND THE DYNAMICS OF GLOBAL EDUCATION.

Professor Ankwuka while delivering the lecture,discribed education as  an instrument per excellence for the social reconstruction of a nation.
He concluded by saying that Nigeria have overdone the talking bit theory in it's educational sector,noting that the time is now ripe to walk the walk in Education.

In his remarks,the Vice-Chancellor  Professor E. Uche Ikonne, described the 25th convocation ceremony as a significant event in the history of the university as it is the Silver Jubilee Convocation, denoting that education remains the bedrock of nation bulding.
He commended the Pre-Convocation lecturer Professor Anwuka for delivering the lecture as well as reinstated the determination of his management to make Absu a domicile of academic activities through lectures and research.
Professor Ikonne who used the opportunity to commend the Leadership of Abia State University Women Association(ABSUWA) for presenting a supportive souvenir to the University, also invited the revered audience to the high point of the convocation ceremony tomorrow, as it promises to be memorable.

In a vote of thanks,the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) Professor I. Elekwa  thanked the Pre-Convocation  lecturer for his harvest of intellectualism as well as the Vice-Chancellor for the opportunity.

High point of the Pre-Convocation lecture was the appreciation of the Pre-Convocation lecturer by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Ikonne in-company of the Pro-Chancellor Sen. Adolf Nwagbara as well as the committee of former Vice-Chancellors.
