Tinubu Appoints Bianca Ojukwu As Foreign Affairs Minister

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs following the resignation of Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, who reportedly stepped down to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections. 

The appointment was announced on Wednesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and is seen as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic leadership and foreign policy direction.

Bianca, a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, is expected to take full charge of the ministry, bringing continuity and experience to Nigeria’s international engagements.

In a related move, President Tinubu also nominated Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, subject to Senate confirmation.
