A Nigerian mother has passed away barely 20 hours after landing in the United Kingdom for her child’s graduation ceremony.
The sad development was disclosed on X by user SK the Plug, who identified her as Mrs Oluranti Olufunmilayo Esther Akinyemi (née Oluwalana/Ogundana).
According to the account shared online, she arrived in the UK on February 11, 2026, in anticipation of the graduation event scheduled for February 18.
Tragedy struck in the early hours of February 12 when she reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and was rushed to Luton and Dunstable Hospital for urgent medical attention.
She remained in coma for three days before doctors pronounced her clinically dead on February 14.
