FCT Polls: APC Wins Chairmanship Election In Kuje


The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Danjuma Shekwolo, has been declared winner of the Kuje Area Council chairmanship election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Shekwolo polled 17,269 votes to defeat his closest rival, Zakwoyi Danlami of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 15,824 votes. Abdullahi Galadima of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) came third with 4,305 votes.

Declaring the result, the Returning Officer, Nkiruka Odoh of the University of Abuja, said Shekwolo, having scored the highest number of valid votes and satisfied the requirements of the law, was duly elected and returned as Chairman of Kuje Area Council.

With the Kuje victory, the APC tightened its grip on the FCT, having also been declared winner in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Kwali and Bwari Area Councils.
