APC's Henrietta Bulabari Wins Khana II Constituency Bye-Election In Rivers State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Henrietta Bulabari, has been declared the winner of the Khana 2 State House of Assembly Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Rivers State.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Angela Briggs, announced the results at the collation centre, declaring Bulabari duly elected after she polled 7,647 votes, outdistancing all other opposition.

According to the official breakdown released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC):

African Action Alliance (AA): 46 votes

All Progressives Congress (APC): 7,647 votes

New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP): 37 votes

Young Progressives Party (YPP): 23 votes

Zenith Labour Party (ZLP): 47 votes

Out of 71,914 registered voters in the constituency, only 7,834 were accredited to participate, reflecting a notably low voter turnout. A total of 7,800 votes were deemed valid, with 34 ballots rejected.

Party agents were present throughout the collation process and the declaration of results.

The bye-election, conducted alongside another in Ahoada East Constituency II (also won by an APC candidate), saw reports of late arrival of electoral materials in some areas, though the process was generally described as peaceful.

Speaking shortly after her victory was announced, an elated Bulabari expressed that she was "extremely" happy with the outcome. She described the election as free, fair, smooth, peaceful, and successful.
