The first son of former Governor of Ebonyi state and Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, Osborn Umahi, Friday, picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship nomination form to contest the forthcoming Ohaozara Local Government Area (LGA) election.
Osborn stormed the APC state secretariat in Abakaliki, the state capital, with a large crowd of supporters and party faithfuls who accompanied him to formalise his entry into the race.
Speaking earlier at his Uburu residence in Ohaozara LGA, the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, expressed strong confidence in his son’s capacity to lead the council.
“You people didn’t congratulate me for my son,” Umahi said with a smile.
“Let me tell you—my son will do well. He will be the best local government chairman ever produced in the state.”
Osborn’s entry into the race is expected to reshape political calculations within the ruling APC ahead of the council polls slated for later in 2026.
Umahi, a civil engineer, is the immediate past governor of the state who ruled for eight years under PDP.
