The Anambra lawyer, Adachukwu Okafor, who allegedly abused her 11-year-old maid House-help surrendered herself to the police and will be arraigned in court soon.
Recall that the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, had placed a N2m bounty on her days back.
Chidimma Ikeanyionwu, media assistant/aide to the State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Hon. Ify Obinabo, confirming the development in a statement on Friday, February 16, 2024, said the suspect surrendered herself to the Anambra Police Command in Awka in person.
Mrs. Okafor allegedly used knife, hot iron and other sharp objects to inflict injuries on the minor, Happiness Nwafor.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Obinabo stated that the suspect, Adachukwu, will be arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate court in Awka next week for trial.
Meanwhile, the victim, a minor, will soon be discharged from the hospital.
