No fewer than 3000 persons dumped Labour Party (LP) for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
Yesterday in Obingwa, the decampees numbering over 3000, led by Hon. Maduka Akpulonu, Director General of Mr. Chinedu Onyezu, Abia south senatorial candidate of Labour party, in the February 25th general election.
The former LP members said they decamped because of the excessively elitist nature of their former party's governorship candidate, Dr Alex Otti as well as his inaccessibility to common citizens.
The decampees described the party‘s gubenatorial candidate, Alex Otti of being arrogant and deceitful, narrating the controversies surrounding his claim of ancestry.
They went further to describe his choice of deputy as one that doesn’t reflect balance of power as they’re both from the same Ohafia/Arochukwu federal constituency.
The decamping members were received at Osusu Amaukwa Community Secondary School by Obingwa Pdp Chairman, Chief Seth Agumuo, the incoming Uhie State Constituency Candidate, Elder Erondu Uchenna Erondu, among other leaders of the party.
