About 2000 residents have benefited from Engr Chinedum’s well organized medical outreach for the residents of Aba South Local Government Area.
Yesterday's medical outreach which was in collaboration with Vicar Hope Foundation was extended to the good people of Aba South at Ama-Ogbonna, as Hon. Hope Ogbonna played host to the memorable event.
The medical team offered services ranging from blood pressure, sugar level check, eye care and general body check-up. They also received required medications. This was part of efforts by Engr Chinedum Ikpeazu to improve the health and well-being of Aba people.
The beneficiaries received world-class healthcare services from over 50 healthcare professionals in different areas of medical practice including Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Child Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ObGyn), Nursing, Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, Health Promotion/Education and Community Health, among others.
The residents, includes youths, elderly women and men, vulnerable persons, benefited from the free cervical and breast cancer screening, free eye screening and glasses, family planning services, and tests for Hepatitis A, B, and C, among others.
During the free skill Acquisition/Empowerment by Engr. Ikpeazu, over 1000 youths benefited from free WAEC/NECO registration, Scholarships, numerous others registered to learn POP, Paint making, Sewing, Makeup Catering Etc..
Addressing the public Engr Chinedum said;
“The outreach is one of the promises made by the Gov Ikpeazu in 2015 to enhance the health and wellbeing of Abia citizens, ensuring that quality and efficient healthcare services get to the grassroots and majorly the rural areas of the state.
“We are pleased with the turnout of both residents and volunteers. While we had over 50 doctors and other health professionals, over 2000 clients were served, resulting in over 2500 patient encounters, as most patients had at least two clinical screening and/or treatment encounters".
Free eyeglasses and medicines were given out; there were family planning (FP) services with the distribution of free FP commodities; tests for Hepatitis A, B, and C as well as breast and cervical cancer screening—some cases were detected, among others.
In a remark, the host, Hon. Hope Ogbonna said he was delighted by the humanitarian gesture of Engr Chinedum, commending the efforts he made in making sure the people gets this services at this difficult time, adding that it was the first of its kind in Aba community. He prayed God to bless him.
Engr. Ikpeazu specially thanked the benefactors of the program, #TeamChinedumIkpeazu ably led by Mr Victor Amogu and the good people of Aba South that came out within short time of notice.

Daniel Okereke (Deputy Transitional Chairman Aba South), Hon. Ndukwu Nwosu (Former Councilor Ohazu 1 ward 5), Chiemela Fredrick (President Eziukwu Aba Community), Prince Raymond Ogbonna (The Eze Elect of Eziukwu Aba Autonomous Community).
