Nigerians React As Tekno Suggests Increase In Police Salary To N250k

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Augustine Kelechi AKA Tekno has suggested that as a motion on reforming the Nigerian Police, the government should look into increasing their salary.

This is coming following the outrage and public protest against police brutality and harassment in the country.

The Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Muhammad disbanded the Special Anti-Robbery Squads, SARs on Sunday, 11th October 2020 following series of protests.


Tekno however believes that police extortion is as a result of the stipends they earn and hence, better pay would encourage contentment and a reason to stop extorting civilians. In a post via Twitter, the singer wrote;

"Increase police salaries to 250k a month..”
