President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday night, signed the Quarantine Order.
This was made known by his Personal Adviser on New Media. The order gives a legal backing to the lockdown extension.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Lagos and Ogun States are affected regions.
The Nigerian leader made the initial lockdown announcement in a national broadcast on Sunday, March 29.
But legal practitioners and critics condemned his “unilateral action”, arguing that it had to have legal backing which has necessitated the 'quarantine order'.
