BREAKING NEWS: Nigeria Records First Case Of Coronavirus

The Federal Government of Nigeria has confirmed the first case of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria.

This was confirmed by the Honorable Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, in a statement in the early hours of Friday, February 28, 2020.

According to a statement released on the official social media account of the ministry of health, the case involves an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria and just returned from Milan, Italy on the 25th of this month.

The patient was confirmed to be positive by the Virology Laboratory of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, part of the Laboratory Network of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

He however, maintained that the patient is stable at the moment.
