First Photo Of Gunman Who Killed 7 And Injured 22 During Mass Shooting In Texas Emerge

The Police have revealed the identity of the man accused of killing seven people and injuring 22 others on a shooting rampage in Texas last weekend.

Seth Ator, 36, was shot and killed by police in the car park of the Cinergy cinema in Odessa, Texas, on Saturday afternoon August 31.

The shooting spree began after Ator refused to obey when police tried to pull him over at a set of traffic lights. He then went on to shoot at police before he used a rifle to kill his victims.

Authorities have not yet established the motive for the mass shooting. Online court records show the suspect was arrested in 2001 for a misdemeanor offense that would not have prevented him from legally purchasing firearms in Texas.

Authorities said they believed he would have killed more people inside the cinema if they had not shot him dead.

Hundreds of people gathered at a local university for a candelight vigil on Sunday.
