The woman identified as Hanan, is reportedly a law graduate from the Bayero University in Kano and got married to her husband in December, 2018.
Hanan however has spoken out from police custody, saying it was self-defense.
Identified as Hanan Hussain, she reportedly stabbed her husband Saeed, with a knife during a fight. Hanan who is said to be a law graduate from the Bayero University in Kano, has since been arrested while her husband remains in critical condition at the Aminu Teaching Hospital, Kano.
A Facebook user identified as Mai Daraja Aliyu Isa broke the news, sharing a photo of Saeed at the hospital.
However, it appears there is more to the story. Speaking from police custody in a video which has since emerged online, Hanan who was covered in bruises and swellings, revealed that what happened was self-defense.
According to Hanan, she was being battered by her husband, last night, despite the fact that she is pregnant. She added that Saeed stabbed himself while they were both struggling with the knife.
