Gov. Obaseki Elected Vice Chairman Progressive Governors Forum

In recognition of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s growing political clout across the country, engrained in his clean politics and people-centred policies, members of the Progressive Governors Forum have elected the Edo State governor as their vice chairman.

The Progressive Governors Forum comprises all state governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with the Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu as chairman.

Obaseki was elected as the Vice Chairman of the forum during a meeting of the PGF held in Abuja.

Some of the governors in attendance include Chairman of the PGF and Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu; Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Kayode Fayemi; Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, among others.

Governor Obaseki reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the aspirations of the party are met and necessary mechanisms strengthened to promote the progressive ideals in APC-controlled states across the country.

He harped on the need for greater economic integration of states in the country, noting that greater ties would make states more sustainable, as the new Executive of the PGF would work towards strengthening peer review among member states.

Obaseki will now work with all APC governors and other leaders across the country to galvanise the party towards more electoral victories and the timely delivery of the dividends of democracy.
