The appointment of commissioners seems to have come to an end as the Delta state Governor, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa in a farewell session has directed the commissioners to hand over to their respective Permanent Secretaries.
This implies a tacit dissolution of his cabinet ahead of his swearing in at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba, on May 29th.
It is not clear what crop of commissioners from the present Exco will make it to the next cabinet, but if hard work in the last 4 years and at the last elections are anything to go by, hopefully some old hands are likely to be retained while a few new blood may be injected to consolidate on the gains already recorded.
No doubt, the exit of a number of top government functionaries may be insight to pave way for a more vibrant administration.
However, the Governor acknowledged that he had a good working relationship with the outgoing commissioners and thanked them for their cooperation.
