Edo Speaker assures persons with Disability of Speedy Passage of Bill

The speaker Edo state House of assembly Rt Hon kabiru Adjoto has assured the speedy passage of the Disabilities Bill currently before the house of assembly noting that the bill is of crucial importance to the House and the generality of people facing the challenge.

Adjoto who addressed persons with disabilities on a visit to the assembly complex to drum up support for the commemoration of International Day for Persons with disabilities reassured them that the house under his leadership will fastrack the accelerated passage of the Bill in view of the significance it connotes.

His words: " Persons with disabilities are naturally endowed with talents and potentials that can be harnessed for Nation building which informed the determination of the house to consider the bill for second reading.This bill when passed into law will addressed the challenges confronting persons with disabilities and also help to promote right to basic education and economic empowerment. 

The Spokesman of  the physically challenged persons, Mr Emmanuel Omoike in his remarks said their visit to the complex was to solicit the support towards the celebration of the International Day for persons with disabilities Scheduled to hold on the 3rd of December 2017.

The speaker was accompanied by the Deputy Leader HON Sunday Aghedo and Rt Hon Foly Ogedengbe member representing Owan East constituency appreciates the special persons adding that their visit was timely as they are ready to ensure the bill is passed so as to address the pains and frustration encounter by this our dear brothers and sisters.
