The PDP defectors were led by the member, representing Obingwa, Osisioma and Ugwunagbo federal constituency in the House of Representatives, hon. Solomon Adaelu.
Since last last week, there was a political cold war between Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu and hon. Solomon Adaelu.
Disclosing this to journalists during a telephone interview on Tuesday evening, the state publicity secretary of APC in Abia state, Comr. Benedict Godson said Hon. Adaelu has properly communicated to the state leadership of the party on his intention to join the APC, stating APC's determination and commitment to form the next government in Abia come 2019 for the purposes of moving the state forward.
His words:"one of the best brains of PDP legislators has officially left PDP for APC. Because he want a better government and development for his people. He is Honorable Solomon Adaelu, representing the home of the Governor of the state.
I can authoritatively confirm that Honnorable Solomon Adaelu who was elected under the platform of PDP during the 2015 election is now an APC member. He joined the party with over ten thousand supporters from the federal constituency.
I can also authoritatively say that I have been mandated by Honorable Adaelu and the state leadership of our great party, APC to tell you he has moved out from PDP and join the progressive party, APC.
APC is on a move to save Abia state and rescue our people from the shackles of poverty occasioned by PDP's bad government in the state. We are determined to bring the needed change in every sector of the stae.
You can see that There is total collapse of infrastructures in the state. So, We are assuring the people of Abia state that APC will fix the state, create jobs, industrialized the state and also massive employment.
The party has welcomed him(Adaelu)and promised to provide level playing ground for all members. Adaelu is a force to reckson with and he is one of the best legislators in Nigeria and Abia state".
