An Indian man has been sued after he supposedly stabbed his mother to death in a fight over money, before cutting out her heart and eating it with pepper and chutney.
The man was identified as Sunil Kuchakurni, 35 years.
According to reports, he visited his mother identified as Yelava, 65 years old at her house in Mahawala Vasant, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, in northern India to ask her for some money as usual.
Sunil is an unemployed young man who has long taken to alcohol and depends on his mother for survival. He became furious when his mother refused to give him the money he requested from her.
Out of anger, he took his mother's kitchen knife and stabbed her. As if that was not enough, he sliced her intestines and her heart and ate the heart after spicing it with chutney and pepper.
Neighbours spotted him walking out of the house with blood dripping from his hands few minutes after they over heard screams and therefore called the police.
He was eventually apprehended under section 302 (Punishment for Murder) of the Indian Penal Code later that day.

A Senior Inspector of India Police who spoke on anonymity said he is now in police custody pending investigation and blood samples are also tested to confirm if he ate parts of his mother's body in a fit of rage or not.
''We suspect he must have eaten some of the organs but it will only be confirmed after the medical reports are back,'' he added.
